The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.
Office Information: Leon CHD, General Health Services offers the following programs: (1) tuberculosis information, testing, and counseling; (2) family planning/birth control; (3) sexually transmitted disease checks and treatment; 4) WIC-nutrition counseling; (5) Medicaid screening; (6) communicable disease control; (7) all immunizations for children and foreign travel; (8) issuance of birth and death certificates (Municipal Way location); (9) dental services for children and pregnant women in the Healthy Start program; (10) school physicals for children; (11) swimming area inspections; (12) health education and risk reduction inspection; (13) Healthy Start; (14) HIV/AIDS information, testing, and counseling; (15) assistance getting prenatal care; (16) A mobile unit goes out from 2-4 times per week, and offers pregnancy, HIV and diabetes testing, childhood immunizations, flu shots for all ages and free condoms. Another CHD location is the Roberts and Stevens Medical Center, 1515 Old Bainbridge Rd, Tallahassee, 32303. A third CHD location is 2965 Municipal Way, Tallahassee, 32304; this office is primarily administrative.
