Office Information: WIC's mission is to increase awareness among postpartum and breastfeeding women and parents/caretakers of participants age 1-5 years of the need to balance food intake and daily physical activity, to promote increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables, and to increase awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding.
The Mobile County Health Department's Office of Nutrition Services manages the WIC program in Mobile County.
Eligibility:
meet income guidelines
be a resident of Alabama
be seen by a health professional at the WIC clinic
For your WIC appointment, bring:
proof of residency
proof of identity
proof of income
At the appointment you will be evaluated for a nutritional risk which is the other main qualifying factor in determining benefit eligibility for pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding women, infants and children under 5.
You will then be directed to a Mobile clinic such as this clinic.
The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. I’ve sent In all information needed to let them know my child was born and can’t even get a call back or answer. The only person that was nice or helpful anytime I’ve been there is the lady that does the breastfeeding stuff. This is ridiculous.

of course, I have the same review as all the others. I have tried multiple times to get someone on the phone to make an appointment and no one answers. if this is the wrong number online, someone needs to change it or answer the phone, it would be greatly appreciated. sincerely, all the annoyed possible clients!!
I do not understand why you can not get this location on the phone!! It is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. All the employees in there and not one person is willing to answer the phone which is part of their job to do so. A supervisor or district manager, someone, needs to go in there and reevaluate the office and make sure that they are doing what they are suppose to do. The front desk are never nice or friendly, always short and rude. It has just gotten so bad there. There is no reason for them not never answer the phone. I have tried calling for 2 weeks straight.
Why wont they answer the phone?
I try make many misscall to Wic Office but no one pick up. I would like to reschedule my appointment.
