Georgia\'s WIC is the nation\'s fifth largest Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. The Food and Nutrition Service administers the program at the federal level and provides funds to state agencies for implementation. At the state level, the Department of Community Health, Division of Public Health, Maternal and Child Health Program, Office of Nutrition and WIC administers the program.
Georgia participants receive a nutrition assessment, health screening, medical history, body measurements (weight and height), hemoglobin check, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals to other health and social services, and vouchers for healthy foods.

WIC serves women, infants, and children in families with income at or below 185 percent of the federally poverty level or enrolled in Medicaid; and who are at risk for nutritional deficiencies. Participant categories consist of pregnant, postpartum and breast-feeding women; infants and children up to their fifth birthday.

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.
