Office Information:
To be eligible for WIC in Minnesota, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Residency: You must live in Minnesota.
2. Categorical Eligibility: You or someone in your household must be receiving one of the following benefits:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Medical Assistance (MA) – TEFRA
3. Income Eligibility: Your household income must be at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). You can find the current income eligibility guidelines on the Minnesota Department of Health website: https://www.health.state.mn.us/people/wic/eligibility/index.html
4. Nutritional Risk: A qualified health professional must determine that you or your child is at nutritional risk. This could be due to a variety of factors, such as anemia, low birth weight, or inadequate dietary intake.

When you apply for WIC, you will need to bring the following documents:
Proof of identification for you and your child(ren)
Proof of income for all household members
Proof of pregnancy (if applicable)
Proof of address

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
If someone in your family is receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Medical Assistance – TEFRA, the person receiving these benefits is adjunctively eligible for the WIC Program.
If the family is eligible under the MA guidelines but not yet enrolled, the family may be determined presumptively eligible if they plan to apply.
Presumptive Income Eligibility: If Your family does not meet the income guidelines but meets all of the following criteria, your family may be presumptively income eligible for the WIC Program.
No one in your family is receiving benefits from any of the adjunctive income eligible programs right now (MA, MFIP, Headstart, SNAP, SSI, Fuel Assistance or Free or Reduced School Lunches).
Your household includes a pregnant woman, a woman who has recently had a baby, or a child up to the age of 5.
You are willing to apply for a Minnesota Health Care Program.
Your household income meets the Presumptive Income Eligibility Guidelines listed below.
The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC.
