Office Information: Middle Tyger Community Center is a local WIC Office in South Carolina. To apply for WIC contact this office. Translation services are also provided at this office.

Please bring the family members applying for WIC Services to the appointment. (It may be you, your child and/or your infant.) If the appointment is for a child, only a parent or legal caretaker who lives with the child can bring the child and complete the paperwork.

You must bring at least one (1) form of identification (ID) for yourself and on (1) form of ID for your infant or child who is applying for WIC.

You also must bring 1 item that proves where you live. The item must show your street address. (No P.O. Box numbers).

You must also bring in proof of all income for everyone living in your household. The item(s) must be current (within the last 60 days).

Participation in the WIC Program has no effect on eligibility for entitlement programs such as TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid. Applicants who present a notice of eligibility from one of these programs are automatically considered to be income eligible for WIC.

Applicants must be determined to have a "nutritional risk" by a WIC professional staff (nutritionist, nutrition education specialist, nurse or LPN) in order to participate in the program. Some examples of nutritional risks include abnormal weight gain during pregnancy, history of high risk pregnancy, growth problems, below normal iron levels or similar problems.

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.
