The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. During your WIC appointment you and/or your child will have a nutrition assessment including a measurement of height, weight, and hemoglobin. You will talk with a WIC educator about healthy eating, breastfeeding, diet or health concerns. If you and/or your child are eligible, you will get WIC vouchers for healthy foods. WIC clients come back every 1-3 months to learn more about healthy eating, growth, development and to pick up additional vouchers.
Our lactation educators and peer counselor provide breastfeeding information, offer assistance and support, and have a variety of supplies, including breast pumps, for WIC program participants.
