The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.
Office Information: The WIC office is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
We are closed at lunch from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Any holiday closings will be posted prior to the holiday for client convenience.
Who is Eligible?
Pregnant, breast feeding, and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five are persons who would be eligible for WIC. Each person must:
Be a resident of Graham County
Must have a family income less than 185% of the U.S. Poverty Income Guidelines. Contact Graham County Public Health WIC Office at 828-479-7900 ext. 3 Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am until 4:30 pm for free eligibility screening over the telephone. Any person receiving Medicaid, Work First Assistance or Food Stamps will automatically meet income eligibility.
Must have a nutritional risk. This assessment is made at the WIC office.
To demonstrate income eligibility you will need to bring the following:
A Medicaid card for the current month or
Pay check stubs for everyone in the home that works
Proof of your physical address where you reside. (If your physical address is different than your mailing address, please bring proof of both.)
